We were looking for a lightweight stroller that can be used for a 3 - 4 month old baby since we have a heavier Graco travelsystem (which we love!). The Metrolight is very convenient for just a quick run to the store with the baby without having to lug a big travelsystem and when you don't need a car seat.

The only think I would've changed was the folding mechanism, it's very cumbersome b/c the wheels have to be locked in the front, etc. etc. before it can close fully. Trying to fold this stroller while holding a 3 - 4 month old is difficult enough.

I bought the Graco Lite Rider when my chunky 6 month old outgrew his infant seat that we were using with a Snap-and-Go. I had a Graco Quattro Tour with my older son, and I loved it, but I wanted something a little lighter and easier to maneuver this time around. The Lite Rider does meet those requirements, and very well. But I do miss having the amenities of the Quattro Tour.

Overall, I think this is a decent stroller, but not a great one. I would recommend it for shopping trips and quick jaunts, and for people with limited trunk space in their cars, but not for long walks or intense daily use.

Pros:

* Wonderful fabric! My Lite Rider is in the "Pippin" design, not "Tango in the Tongo." They are the same stroller body, though. I love, LOVE the Pippin design. Adorable for a boy or girl. It's attractive without being too cutesy, durable, and comfortable for baby.

* Huge storage basket for a lightweight stroller.

* Decent canopy with a window.

* Child tray and parent tray make the Lite Rider a huge improvement over an umbrella stroller.

* It is indeed light, and it rolls smoothly on pavement or indoors. It's a great choice if you have to lug your stroller upstairs, or in and out of the car frequently.

Cons:

* It's a smidge too short. I do okay with this stroller. I'm just over five-feet-four-inches tall, and it is only a little lower than I'd like it to be; I'm not totally comfortable, but I'm not hunched over, either. But my husband has to slouch a bit, and at five-foot-nine, he is not a large man. Skip this one if you're tall, as there is no way to adjust the height the way you can on some other Graco models.

* The child tray sticks out awkwardly when the stroller is folded, and it also does not swing open and closed.

* The stroller must be reclined to be folded, so if you usually want to use it in the not-reclined position (and I do), you have to straighten it up every single time you unfold it. The basket needs a tug every time you unfold the stroller, too. These little things add up when you're juggling a squirmy baby, a diaper bag, and whatever else.

* The parent tray is attached with 2 screws, but it really needs 4. It keeps popping up in the back. It won't come off, the two screws in the front are tight, but it is annoying.

The bottom line: this stroller is not great competition for a full-sized stroller like the Quattro Tour. It feels cheaper and it just doesn't have those nice extras. I don't think it will last a terribly long time. But when you compare it to an umbrella stroller, it comes out leaps and bounds ahead. So it definitely fills an important niche in the stroller market.

This seat has lasted until 7 months, and would go a little longer. My son is about 20 pounds, but is growing out of the height range. I have been very happy with this car seat! The pads wash very well, even after spit-ups and diaper blow-outs. You would never know to look at the pads. It clicks into the base easily and is very simple to install. A t the hospital they preferred this one because it lays newborns back a little more. remember to take the newborn insert out when your child reaches the appropriate size, and adjust the strap heights. This is VERY easy to do.

This car seat is heavy and I almost never carry him in it. I don't know how it compares to other seats, but add a 10-20 pound baby and it's too much for me. I use a Maclaren Easy Traveller (much recommended over the coordinating Chicco travel system strollers) to get him everywhere. Put the seat in the frame, put the baby in, and go. The only time I lift the seat is to get it from the stroller frame inside the car.

I cannot really say much about this metrolite travel system. I wanted something light and after reading over many reviews and checking out another metrolite (Sterling) in Babies R Us, I decided on the metrolite. I wanted the Quattro Travel System-Deco, but it was bigger and too heavy for me. I like the neutral color of this set because I'm having a boy, and later on can still use it if I have a girl. It was easy to set up. So far I cannot make much comments on it, but it is what it is. I already knew how it would look and feel before ordering it. The material is easy to clean, but is not fabric or soft like some other set, but I can always add something soft in it, no biggie. Now, I just have to test it out when my baby arrives around thanksgiving. If you want something light weight, look into Graco metrolite. And oh, it is so easy to fold and unfold. I love love love the carseat. I had an older snugride and hated it but this one is soooo updated and awesome. My son falls asleep everytime he gets in it. He never fusses when we buckle him in. I wanted a seat that only went to 22 pounds because lets face it who wants a haul around a 30 pound baby plus carseat? I get so many compliments. Wherever I go someone tells me how nice it is or asks where I got it. The front adjust is good too. I like the rounded carry handle. I can carry it and my arm never hurts.

The stroller is very nice with many options. The one thing I do not like about the stroller is that when you fold it it folds all the way down to the ground and you have to been over and pick it up. Other than that I love this stroller.

We have this same system (but different color/pattern). I love how comfortable it is to push and for my son to sit in. We purchased it for an infant (I am 6 months pregnant), but until the baby comes, my 3 1/2 year old son is using the stroller. He fits in it very comfortably and he loves riding in it - very smooth ride. My husband is 6'1" and I am 5'3" and we both find it easy to maneuver. Sometimes strollers are too short for him to push without getting a backache, but this height is great for him (and me too).

We have not used the car seat yet since I'm still pregnant but we love the look. We like the padding and that it is easy to clean. We had a Graco travel system with our older son, but this is more of a "loaded" model, and we like it a lot better! Looks sharp and at a decent price.

My ONLY issue is sort of a major one. The stroller does not fit into the trunk of my car (Pontiac G6 sedan). It is a HUGE stroller to fold up in comparison to the lower-end Graco model we used to have. It does fit in my husband's Saturn Ion trunk. We didn't realize this until we purchased it, and it's a pretty big deal...so please keep this in mind if you don't have a large trunk!! I picked this infant seat for a few reasons:

It is lightweight, only 7 lbs itself w/ out base,( and baby)

It has the EPS foam lining the seat between the plastic and the fabric baby sits on.

The fabrics used are easy to clean and are the colors I was looking for, Black, and Beige orange accent color. There is a velvet fabric in beige that is super soft!

It comes with a removable foot cover which will be great in the winter months or when going to the park in the stroller.

It also comes with removable shoulder strap covers (to lessen the irritation of the straps) and removable head support all which you can throw in the washer and clean if need be.

The canopy is a little flimsy but also removable, and it has a peep hole in the top so you can see the baby through it from the top.

The base it comes with is super easy to install took husband 5 mins, onces he read through the instructions, they make it very clear if it is installed correctly or not..

We just recieved our Graco SafeSeat in the Rittenhouse pattern. Just thought I'd add two specific comments directed toward those shopping on-line.

1. We bought from Amazon partially because of the really great price (it seems to vary every few days, so keep watching) and the free shipping. Supposedly it was going to take longer for the free shipping-- 3-5 days for order processing and 7-10 for shipping. I placed the order on the evening of 3/25 and it arrived 3/28. Now that's fast!!

2. If you are a first time parent you may not be aware that car seats have manufacture dates. It is virtually impossible to find out the manufacture date from customer service agents (I tried lots of different websites), as the phone operators have no acess to the acutal product that's being shipped. It is on the outside of the individual box or stamped on the underside of your carseat if you're looking in the store. Lots of horror stories out there of online purchased car seats that were manufactured 3 years or more prior. Usually its not too big a deal, as most are thought to be safe 5-6 years after their "manufacture date". But if you are specfically looking for a manufacture date to ensure it is compatible with your stroller system or plan to use it again for another child later.. it may be more important to you. We purchased this stroller system (in a different color) in 2006. I still love it. The frame is solid, the wheels big and turn easy, folds great and quick set up, not that heavy, and the snugride car seat is a breeze to click in and out. I love the huge basket bellow, and it drops down to make it easy to get things out when stroller seat is reclined or you have the car seat clicked in. It is a bit stiff at first and hard to drop...but the more you use it the easier it gets. And if you live some place that gets freezing temps (we live in Alaska) the plastic viewing window in the canopy can freeze and crack if left outside in the car too long (like overnight). Otherwise this stroller has taken a beating with the extreme temps and done great. Compared to other strollers it is a bit heavy, but that is because of the solid construction. I am 5 foot and do just fine with it. This thing has gone through grass, sand, gravel, dirt, ice, snow, North Carolina heat, and Alaskan winters. Now, it isn't a jog-runner with those cool go anywhere wheels...but this thing can hold its own just fine. We have a Honda Odyssey mini van and it fits just fine in the "trunk" with all 3 rows up with room left over for groceries. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Plus, the car seat is awesome. It clicks in and out of the base to stroller in a flash. Easy to install, easy to clean and has a great safety record. My wife and I recently had our first child. As her due date approached (Nov 7, 2008) we started shopping around for all the necessary products, including strollers and car seats. Once we settled on getting a travel system (based on various recommendations from friends), we shopped around at local stores for the right one.

We had always heard good things about the Graco name, so we compared the various Graco systems with the more expensive Eddie Bauer versions. This Graco system was clearly lighter than others, but it did not appear to sacrifice quality and durability. So, we settled on Graco.

Well, on October 9 (4 weeks early) my daughter was ready to be born, so I immediately ordered this travel system from Amazon (on my iPhone). We have been using it faithfully since we brought our daughter home a few days later.

The car seat is very well constructed and I feel comfortable that my baby is safe. The stroller is very maneuverable and the rubber wheels roll smoothly on asphalt and concrete. The system is kind of heavy and bulky with the baby in it, but I think that drawback is clearly offset by the convenience of an all-in-one system that will grow with your child and being able to keep your baby in the infant seat when you take him/her out of car.

This is the absolute best stroller that I have ever used (and we have used a lot). Compared to our other heavy, bulky Peg Perego Venezia, this stroller is a dream. It is easy to assemble out of the box and ready to use. It is so simple to open and close and the latch keeps it closed so it can even stand up on the floor while closed. It is light and fits easily into the trunk of our small sedan. I couldn't fit an entire load of groceries in the trunk while the stroller is in there....but why would I bring the stroller to the grocery store?! It is narrow, and easy to pick up with one hand. The large, rubber, puncture proof wheels are awesome - we have walked through mud, and puddles and all over the place with no problems. It is like pushing nothing at all - totally effortless. The basket is large, the cups are great. It has 3 reclining positions which is very useful for an on the go nap, or diaper change. The 5 point harness is useful and actually works, unlike the Peg Perego Aria which slips out easily.

Overall, this stroller is a must. We use it every day, for walking outside (several miles a day) and at the mall, and the beach, etc. If you have been dissatisfied with other strollers, this is the one to get.Buy Graco MetroLite Stroller, Soho!

Graco Quattro Tour Sport Travel System in Boone

We just received this Graco Quattro Tour Sport stroller/car seat combo yesterday.

1. In the picture it looks like the color is gray with cherry red accents. The color is NOT RED, it's actually a coppery-orange color.
2. When folded up, the stroller does not stand by itself upright, which many strollers these days do.

We went with the Graco Snugride because it received good safety ratings and fit our budget. Our newborn son fit nicely in it and seemed secure - the first few times. After the first couple of months I started to notice some definite drawbacks:
1) It is NOT particularly lightweight, and even though my son was a smaller baby, it still got really heavy really fast. After about 3mos. I refused to use it anymore. We put it in hubby's car and I put the convertible seat in mine.
2) The straps adjust from behind, and they are the kind that need to be threaded individually. So, if the season changes (or you just live in a variable region like we do) you'll find yourself fighting with it every time your child wears anything heavier than a onesie. THEN you have to re-thread again on the next warm (lighter clothes) day. And trust me - trying to adjust those things when you're in a hurry to be somewhere will frazzle your nerves in no time!
3) The handle was not very steady. What I mean is, these seats are pushed and pulled constantly, usually at a sideways angle in and out of the car or at your hip. I found that after just a few trips, the handle felt loose and would rock a little from side to side, and even back & forth slightly when supposedly locked in place.
4) Last thing, but definitely my biggest concern. The anchor strap slips! You don't notice it the first few times, and you probably won't ever notice it unless you ride in the back seat or test it occasionally. Because it was in my husband's car, we didn't notice it at first. Then I rode back there one day and found that the base was sliding like crazy - the BASE! The strap (it was the LATCH strap) had gradually gotten looser and looser, even though we used a towel to even out the seat (as recommended) and pulled the strap as tight as humanly possible. We fixed it, then found that several weeks later it was loose again!
I would accept that the loose strap thing was a fluke of this particular seat (since I've never heard anybody else complain of it), but taken as a whole we will NOT be using this seat again. Go with Britax or Chicco!Buy Graco SnugRide Adjustable Base - Tan!

I bought the SnugGlider as a baby shower gift and it arrived very promptly from Right Start. I was then contacted by the recipient of the gift and told that the motor did not work. I contacted Right Start who confirmed that they would exchange the item and sent me a UPS label for return of the item. When the family went to return the item for exchange, they discovered from Right Start that 2 days after my enquiry they went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The customer service representative was very polite and apologetic, but confirmed that there was no way to exchange the item and no possibility of a refund. I ordered this carseat for my baby when I was expecting because it just seemed the smart thing to do with babies coming into this world at 8+ lbs and 19"+ long! Well our little boy came into this world weighing 7.06 lbs and measuring 20" long! Most rear facing carseats only go up to 22 lbs and 22" long, so this was definitely a wise choice. He's only 13 days old and we have used the carseat on 3 occassions and so far so good! It's spacious enough so that he doesn't feel cramped or confined once buckled in. The downfall to that is that his head bobs a bit too much for me because the infant insert is still a little too big. We purchased an additional head support piece (not Graco) to resolve this issue. It works well... He was awake when he was placed in it the second time and he cried a bit but calmed down after he was all tucked in. The other times he was asleep and remained sleeping... The carrier is easy enough to remove from the base which is a huge plus. The colors are rich looking with a baby feel (the green), and can work for either boy or girl (I didn't know what I was having when I ordered it)...The straps are easy enough to adjust once you read the instructions. To date the carrier is not too heavy, but that may change once he puts on some pounds... Overall I love this carseat so far...
